Los puntos de vista sobre los tatuajes han cambiado mucho en los últimos años. Cuando vuelvo a mi infancia, las “únicas” personas que recuerdo que tenían tatuajes, estaban vinculadas a crímenes o a estar en un mal camino en la vida. Ahora, los tatuajes son piezas de arte y reflexiones de nosotros mismos, pero a pesar de que estamos muy lejos de aquellos tiempos donde las personas estaban siendo discriminadas por sus elecciones, sigue siendo un problema para los que no han roto relaciones con esos estereotipos. La mayor parte de la sociedad lo ha aceptado, pero todavía hay muchas ideas erróneas. Yo tengo seis, aunque hay tres que tengo que pueden contar como solo uno, así que tal vez el número real es cuatro; algunos de ustedes probablemente no sabían que yo tenía ninguno y después de hacérmelos, me hice mucho más consciente de la magnitud de la opinión de las personas sobre ellos. “Vas a tener problemas consiguiendo un trabajo”, me dijo alguien, bien “alguien”, me teñí el pelo púrpura, a mi jefe le encantó y no me despidió… ya tengo un trabajo estable donde no se me margina como empleado por las elecciones que hago con mi piel, cabello o ropa, gracias por ese dulce comentario. “No estas siendo un buen modelo a seguir ” otra persona me dijo… oh, ¿le parece? ¿Soy una criminal? ¿Estuve en la cárcel o he cometido algún acto seriamente grave? No lo he hecho, ¿verdad?. ¿Todo eso porque me hice una hermosa pieza de arte en mi brazo? ¿De verdad?. Aprecio el comentario tan bien intencionado. “Tendrás que vivir con él por el resto de tu vida sin poder dar hacia atrás”… ¡SÍ! Yo como que ya lo sabía y estoy muy contenta con ese hecho, ¿Usted no? ¡No tiene que estarlo ! No entiendo por qué sienten la necesidad de dar su opinión si no es su cuerpo, aprecien la pieza, hasta ahí es lo más lejos que su opinión cuenta. Además, mi hermana me dijo que estaba loca, eso le costo una mirada bastante seria. Todo lo que queda por decir para todos los que entran más profundo de lo que deberían con este tema es que tienen que superarlo e ir a hacerse uno también.
The views of tattoos have changed quite a lot in the years. When I go back to my childhood, the “only” people who I remember had them we’re linked to crimes or being on a bad path in life. Now, they’re considered pieces of art and reflections of ourselves, but even though we’re very past those times where people were being discriminated by those choices, it’s still an issue to those who have not parted ways with those stereotypes. The bigger part of society has accepted them, but there are still many misconceptions. I have six myself, though there are three I have that may count as one, so maybe the actual count is four, some of you probably didn’t know that I had any and after getting them I became so much more aware of how strongly people feel about them. “You will have issues when looking for a job” someone said, well someone, I dyed my hair purple and my boss loved it and didn’t fired me… I already have a steady job where I am not overlooked as an employee for the choices I make with my skin, hair or clothing, thanks for that sweet comment. “You’re not being a good role model” other someone said… oh really? Am I a criminal? Was I in jail or have I committed any seriously punishable act? I hadn’t have I?. All of that because I got a beautiful piece of art on my arm? For real? I appreciate that well intentioned remark. “You’ll need to live with it for your whole life and can’t take it back”… YES! I kind of already knew that and am very happy with that fact, are you not? Well you don’t have to! I don’t understand why they feel the need to give their opinion if it’s not their body, appreciate the damn piece, that’s as far as your opinion counts. Also, my sister said I was crazy, which earned her a very wide eyed gaze. All that’s left to say for everyone who dive deeper than they should with this topic is GET OVER IT and go get one too!
